Apparently that's what I yelled to Joe as he was leaving for work this morning. I was asleep. We actually slept in this morning. Hana Grace did not wake up until almost 8:30am! We were up at the hospital until almost 10:00pm. Yes, Hana has a new friend now! Charles Harrison Broom was born last night around 9:00pm. They had to go ahead and do a C-Section because he was breech. Everyone is doing well. I haven't heard anything this morning, but we'll be going to visit them this evening. Little Charles was 7 lbs 1.8 ounces and 20 inches long with red hair. So far we've only seen a picture of him. We had to get Hana home and to bed so we didn't get to wait around to see him live and in action. Charles seems to have handled watching the C-Section quite a bit better than Joe, but he is a Marine and he did a tour in Iraq, so I'm sure he's seen much worse. Although I'm sure it's different when you're dealing with your wife.
Well, Hana and I are preparing for our first trip to the pool. We're going to the Allen Natatorium. I've never been, but it sounds a lot like the Frisco Athletic Center. I have to admit, I'm sad that Joe isn't going to get to see her get in the pool for the first time. I just got off the phone with him and expressed my sadness once again, but he said, "I'm just happy you're getting to share this time with her and not some random day care employee." I have to say, he's got a good point. So I'm putting all sadness aside and we're going swimming! I'll try to take some pics, but I'll definitely report back. I'll try to get a pic of little Charles too. The family was texting the first pics of him back and forth last night and I thought about asking for it to be sent to me so I could post it on here, but then I saw the picture with my own two eyes. He's definitely a boy!
I'll be back...
