The Greatest Show On Earth

Saturday we went to see The Greatest Show On Earth. That's right. Neeny, Uncle Josh, Aunt Angela, Aunt Bicky, Aunt Jenno, Joe, Hana and I went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. We had a blast! I spent way too much money on this adorable snow cone that I ended up eating most of myself.
Then we quickly took our seats and the show was off to a slow start. These poor horses ran around in this little circle for a very long time.

Then one finally did something kind of cool.
Hana watched anxiously, not wanting to miss a thing.

Hana got to enjoy popcorn for the first time. Well, she's had bites here and there, but I think this time she came close to eating an entire bucket by herself! (That's pretty much why I ended up eating most of the snow cone.)
Neeny (and Geegaw, even though he wasn't able to come) bought Hana this really cool, um, thing. She calls it a wand. I guess that's what it is, they did have this whole magic theme going. Zing! Zang! Zoom! It lights up and spins around. She thinks it's fantastic!
She (as well as every other kid there with one) came close to taking out a few eyes.
Her wand goes quite nice with her wizard hat.
During intermission it was time for a little cotton candy...
then it was time for a little more...
and then a little more!
Oh, and then a little more!
Cannons were fired.
People were shot out of cannons.
They made sure to remind us over and over again not to try any of it at home. Because we would have, you know.
Then there was this guy with mystery muscles. Apparently it was a suit, but I couldn't tell the difference. I guess I didn't look closely enough to notice the armbands around his wrist. Oh well.
Hana Grace is still talking about the elephants.
And the tigers.

We're all still talking about these guys.
We had such a good time, even though we all kind of agreed with the PETA protesters outside before it was all said and done. The whips were a bit much. On the way home as we were discussing how cruel some of it seemed, I mean we really enjoyed seeing the animals, but the yelling and the whips were a bit harsh. So we were discussing how we would love to have just seen the acrobats blah, blah, blah, and then we're travelling down the road, going about 30 mph with cars behind us and this dumb pigeon is sitting in the middle of our lane just staring at us. The pigeon was literally playing chicken with us! It never moved and Joe had no choice but to hit it. Thump. Horrified, I yelled, "Did you just hit that bird?!" And Joe looked in his rear view mirror and said, "Yep." And Hana said, "Daddy, you shouldn't have hit that bird! That was not nice!" Now when asked what her favorite part of the circus was she'll say, "The elephants and the tigers and the cotton candy and Daddy hit a bird." Poor Joe. Sometimes he just can't catch a break!

So glad you all enjoyed the circus so much. Hana should be able to catch lots of fish with that wand and hat. I bet it was something she will never forget. Too bad about the pigeon, oh well there are way to many of them anyway.

I can't take credit for all the pics. Some of them were ones Josh took. Joe was sitting next to me and kept bumping me, so several of mine turned out blurry.
