Hey guys, it's freakin' cold outside! When my hubby left for work this morning it was 21 degrees! Currently it's 22. At least it's warmed up a whole degree! He left for work before 6 and made it there just after 7, safe and sound. He says it wasn't too bad out there, he was able to drive 30-40 mph the whole way. Of course I did nothing but lay in bed and pray that he would be alright. That's what sucks about being a banker, especially when it's your day to open. Banks HAVE to be open for business - no matter what pretty much. I was in those shoes for many many years and opened every single morning driving from Frisco to Dallas. The icy mornings really sucked! Hey, Dawn, remember when we got stuck at the bank that evening because we had to wait for the courier and the courier was stuck in ice/snow? We couldn't even order pizza because they weren't delivering! We had a snowball fight in the drive-thru. Fun times. When we were finally able to leave at like 9 or 9:30 that night we had to scrape the ice off our windshields with CD cases and I think I drove about 5 mph the whole way home. Stupid bank. They gave us that stupid North Park gold that you can only spend at North Park, but we went to the North Park branch and traded it for cash. LOL I think they also treated us - and everyone else - to a Mexican food lunch the next day. What kind of crap was that? "Hey, guys. You can't leave at 6 like you normally do. You have to wait for the courier until after 9 tonight. Oh, and you can forget about dinner. Just eat whatever random Russian food there might be in the refrigerator and lots of suckers. Freeze your butts off, smoke lots of cigs (by the vault), and oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention: while you're waiting, the ice and snow will continue to fall as the sun goes down making it near impossible for you to drive home. Have fun and be safe and if you're still alive in the morning we'll give you each $50 in North Park gold and for lunch we'll all have enchiladas! Deal?" We were young. Very young. Can you imagine if that happened now? We'd be like. "Um, no thanks." But it was fun!
