Happy Hump Day!

So yesterday I hosted a play date and, once again, I deem it a success! It was a lot of fun because all the kiddos who are Hana's age came. It's fun to watch them interact. Annie also brought Helen and Thomas, and let me tell you that Thomas is a freakin' cutie! He really made me miss all those weird baby noises, you know the grunts and gurgles that freak you out as a new mother! LOL One of my most favorite moments from the play date yesterday was when all three boys were crying/fussing and Hana Grace stood in the middle of them all with her hands on her hips looking at them as if to say "What is the matter with you?" I guess the difference between men and women is apparent from a very young age! :-) I have to say though that Miss Hana is quite a hostess. She just had to make sure that each individual person was entertained. She is such a ham!

Hana scraped her hand over the weekend playing with her Diaper Genie Refills so she is wearing a band aid for the very first time. Well, she was until she took it off at her play date yesterday and handed it to Nicte!
I cooked another delicious dinner last night. I have a subscription to Cookie Magazine and each month they have neat recipes. This time I decided to try them out and so far every one has been a success. (I've only made two) Monday night I made turkey goulash. I know what you're thinking, Jenn, but it was delicious. There was no pasta, it was more like a stew with ground turkey, new potatoes, bell pepper, tomato sauce and lots of paprika...yum! Last night I made homemade mini gorditas. The recipe had me make a mixture of cornmeal, cream-style corn, water, and shredded cheese (I also added some jalapenos) and mash it down into a muffin pan to create little cups, so we each had our own little mini gorditas...yummy! I topped it off with lean taco meat, black beans, quacamole, cheese, red onion and shredded carrot. All the recipes in the magazine are supposed to be healthy and kid-friendly. I served it with Taco rice and hominy.

Hana Grace was pleased with her dinner! She didn't have a mini gordita. I feared the jalapenos I added to the cornmeal mixture would be too hot for her. It seems I made the right decision because they were almost too hot for us! LOL But we love it spicy!
Obviously she needed a bath afterward, so her Daddy scrubbed her down. Once she was all clean, her Daddy decided they should have a photo shoot to show off the cool new hairdo he gave her.
Want to know what my favorite oil smell is today? I have created a nice mixture: 8 drops of Brazilian Passion fruit by Yankee Candle, 8 drops of Cranberry by The Body Shop, and 4 drops of Satsuma by The Body Shop. It's delightful!

The mini gorditas sound yummy! Is it Cookie Magazine?? Love, love, love the "photo shoot"!!! The next to last pic is too cute! Yankee Candle has oil?!?!? Noooooo!! LOL That sounds like a good mixture. I have 15 drops of The Body Shop's cranberry going with 5 drops of Satsuma. The whole house seems great.
