The good news & the bad news

The good news is...
The plumber just left and our hot water is working again in our guest bathroom!

The bad news is...

The plumber fell through our ceiling.

This is how I rigged it for now until the repairman gets here. The heat coming in from the attic was killer so I stapled trash bags to the ceiling to cover the hole.

The poor guy felt so bad. Fortunately he did not get seriously injured, just some scrapes and bruises. He said his pride was hurt more than anything. He said he's been doing this for 15 years and had always bragged about how he had never fallen through a ceiling. Apparently this is extremely common. We'll get it fixed and they are going to take care of the cost and they haven't even charged us for the work they did. Good times!

Wow! I guess that's one way to get free plumbing! Glad they're taking care of it. I bet you freaked when it happened. Was Hana in her little area when it happened?

Yep......shat her diaper right there in the living room!

Holy moly, did you hire a zoner plumber? Glad they will take care of all the repairs. Hope Hana does not think that men fall from the ceiling all the time.

Joe is the one who left the comment regarding "shat."

Yes, I completely freaked out. So many things ran through my head. I was literally shaking when I called Joe to tell him as the man's legs were dangling from the ceiling!

Hana was in her little area when it happened. The first thing I did was run and grab her. It didn't phase her in the least. It made a very loud noise so she looked to see what happened, but it didn't scare her.

They were so calm about it. The one guy just asked for a broom and started sweeping it all up (a large trash bag full of insulation and what not)as the other one who fell through removed himself from the ceiling and went on to do whatever he was up there to do! LOL I must have stood there with my jaw on the floor for a couple minutes straight! Then the guy sweeping told me the story about the time he fell through the ceiling of a two story house. I'm just glad it wasn't Joe that fell through!

SORRY, MARK!

I don't think I deleted that post. If I did, I surely did not mean to. I don't hihnk I even know how to delete comments! Sorry, Mark! I was really pleased to see a comment from you! I have been really missing Bradley's remarks. Now that he's working I guess he doesn't have time to mess with the blog anymore.
