Update

1. Hana's infection is much better, but far from well.
Every bandage change is my newest worst nightmare as we have to wrestle her
and hold her down to get anything accomplished
(Me by myself during the day while Joe is at work).
I have accepted that it is my own personal hell.
Even though when all is said and done she now laughs and tells me
"it didn't hurt much at all."
Well then, why in tar nation did you put up such a fight?
That's what I scream in my head. And sometimes say aloud.
But she is happy, taking her medicine like a champ
and a perfect little snuggle bug for this cold winter's day.
2. I expect it to be ooze-free and healed up soon.
In the meantime "Let it drain! Let it drain! Let it drain!"
3. Last night it needed a little "help" and once Joe "helped" it,
what came out was enough to make anyone gag.
It smelled rancid, was grayish in color and shot out in clumps.
Clear stuff began to flow so we're hopeful that was the last of the worst.
4. This morning the bandage I removed was completely soaked, the most so far,
and the wound was much, much smaller in size
and does not seem to hurt her anywhere near as bad as it has been.
5. Hana had to miss dance class yesterday due to her infection and would have missed gymnastics today as well, but they're going to be closed
due to weather so we should at least get a make up class for gymnastics.
6. We can make up her dance class Friday if we like, but I'll have to wait and see how she's doing. I'm not crazy about her being around a bunch of kids while taking two antibiotics.
7. Next Saturday we get to make up her gymnastics class she missed last week due to inclement weather, so she'll be excited about that.
8. Right now there is a thin layer of ice on the ground and it's snowing like crazy.
We're expected to get 2-4 inches of snow today which would normally excite me, but we will not be getting out in it due to the infection.
9. There are actually several reasons why I don't think it's a good idea to get out this weather.
10. As you read in my previous post, today is my parents' 40th wedding anniversary.
I am so proud of them, envious of them and inspired by them.
I love them so much.
They are truly the best parents on God's green earth, in my completely biased opinion.
11. Joe brought me a beautiful bouquet of Gerber daisies (my favorite) on Monday that I am admiring as I type this since they are sitting in front of me on the table.
12. Maybe one day soon I'll share with you his reason for bringing me flowers.
13. Our power went out last night while I was cooking dinner
so we decided we would go out to eat.
14. We let Hana pick where as a bribe for what we would have to do
when we got home, like, clean her boo boo.
15. Aunt Bicky met us for dinner and we had a great time, but the bribe didn't help at all.
16. Since I have been typing this, the snow has began to accumulate on the ground.
This makes my heart jump as I want to play in it so badly.
But we can't. I will be strong. I will resist the urge.
17. I have lots of other posts up my sleeve.
18. I have lost 15 pounds since the first of the year!
19. I am about to go clean and sanitize the you-know-what out of my entire house.
20. I just started reading "Are you there vodka? It's me, Chelsea" by Chelsea Handler
and I think it's hilarious.
21. It's a library book, so since I have limited time to read it,
I had to set aside my George W. Bush book I was reading and thoroughly enjoying.
22. I will gladly resume reading it once I finish the other book.
23. I bought Joe the George W. Bush book for Christmas because
a) I thought he would enjoy it and b) I really wanted to read it too!
24. I am purposely writing more because my OCD brain tells me I have to do everything in fives.
25. I have managed to end with the perfect number.
Why? Well, because 5x5=25 and it doesn't get much better than that.
I cannot believe I just let you see how crazy my brain is and I really wanted to make this sentence I am currently typing Update #26, but I can't due to my obsession with five. ;-)

TTFN!
