Sleet Tickles

At about 3:00 this morning I woke up to thunder crashing. I waited. I knew what was coming. Hana does not like thunder and if that woke me up, it most certainly woke her up. I was right. In no time she was tapping me on the face (as she does). I opened my eyes and said, "Hi there!" She said, "Momma it's thundering and storming and I'm scared." To which I replied, "I know, I was waiting for you. I heard the thunder too and I knew you'd come find me." I announced to Joe that we had a visitor and she snuggled in between us and said, "What is all that noise, Momma?" I answered, "It's sleet." "Sleet?" she asked. "Yes, it's frozen rain, like ice, hitting the windows." And she said, "It sounds like it's tickling the windows." And after that we snuggled closer and fell back to sleep listening to the sleet tickle the windows.
