S-I-C-K

She made it through the night without so much as a peep. At 7:00 this morning I heard her in the playroom (Brad was asleep on the couch) saying to Brad, "Boo! I got ya! Wake up! The sun's up!" I ran to save him and let him go back to sleep. She immediately asked for oatmeal, which I thought was a great sign. I mean, she had to be hungry. She barely ate a thing for dinner last night and then threw it all up. She can usually down a bowl of oatmeal in under a minute. Seriously, this girl LOVES oatmeal. She ate about 1/4th of the bowl and was done.

She's played off and on all day. She plays hard, hits a wall, plays hard, hits a wall. I'm sure you know the sick kid routine. I thought a movie might draw her in enough to keep her still but it turns out she was more worried about what Brad was doing. LOL! Around 10:00 I made her some chicken broth and she drank 2 cups of it. Yay! She seemed to be doing really well after that so we decided we'd play in the playroom...which turned into painting in the playroom, you know, because Brad is painting in her bathroom.

She had lots of fun swirling the colors together.

Then she realized she'd only made a bunch of brown paint, so she asked for new paint and promised she wouldn't swirl them together again until she was finished using all the different colors. And here's the finished project:

Then we had lunch. She hasn't vomited again since "the incident" last night and only has diarrhea right now, so I offered her a variety of bland foods and she picked noodles. So I boiled her some noodles and put a little butter on them, but she wasn't pleased. I guess they were too bland for her taste (I don't blame her) so I added a pinch of cheese and a dash of garlic powder(those two things make everything taste better). In the end she ate the entire bowl (which was only about 1/2 a cup) and then asked for ice cream. I let her have a small Popsicle and this is where we are now:
Poor thing. But at least we're making progress (I think)!

Sounds like she is on the mend.
