I'm a list person. I make lists. Lists. Lists. Lists. Hana likes lists too. She's all the time "making lists." I, of course, find it adorable. Any time I go to the store I have a list in my pocket as well as a pen so I can mark off the items as I go. The marking off of the items is just as important as the making of the list, in my opinion. Nothing drives me battier than arriving at the store with no pen to mark things off my list. I'll buy a package of pens just so I can open it and use one. I need that sense of accomplishment. I love making lists, but I L-O-V-E marking things off as I conquer them, be it tasks, groceries, Christmas gifts, errands, etc. This is also something I often assign to Hana at the store when she is becoming antsy to leave. I let her draw the lines, even though it's my favorite part. Now that's love. Anyhow, we will be having a small New Year's gathering at our house tomorrow and I had a list sitting on the table of things I had scribbled down to get at the store when I go tomorrow. Earlier Hana handed me the list and said, "Momma, you forgot to put the lines on your list. Here, I helped you!"
Thank you, sweet girl.
