Random Catch Up

We're busy. It's just that time of year! The countdown to Hana's third birthday is officially on. I cannot believe she's going to be three already. Where has the time gone? She is so excited about her carnival birthday party. That's one thing that's really been occupying our time. Since I decided to do a homemade carnival party, that requires a bit of prep work.

I go to the doctor Thursday for a check up. Things are going great...and they're only getting better. (LOL) The nausea seems to be going away. Maybe. I'll keep my fingers crossed. The vomiting at least seems to be (mostly) a thing of the past. It's probably safer to say that's it's no longer part of my daily routine, so that's a good thing. I still have major food aversions, none of them make any sense of course. Nothing has tasted or smelled like dog food or bologna in a while, so that's also a good thing. Little Bilbo (as the baby has been so graciously named by a friend of ours) is growing like a weed and I'm completely convinced I can feel him or her moving every now and then. Crazy, I know, but from what I've read, it's not entirely insane. It's probably just gas, but I've never had gas that feels just like a baby fluttering inside me. LOL I'm 10 weeks along now and Hana asks every now and then if the baby's ready to come out yet. Today while we were grocery shopping she was pretending to be my doctor and she was looking down my shirt to check on the baby and then pretending to get it out of my tummy. She's going to be the best big sister ever to her little brother or sister. I'm convinced it's a boy, but only because this pregnancy is so completely different than the last, and I know that really is no indication at all. Honestly, I'll take whatever God decides to give us. It's wild to me to think that little Bilbo already has a gender right now but we won't be able to see the genitals for a while longer.

So this weekend we're having a garage sale, next weekend is Hana's birthday party, then it's Thanksgiving, after Thanksgiving shopping and then the following weekend is Joe's company's Christmas party. So, as I said, we're pretty busy! As if all of that isn't enough, I've also decided to sell our bedroom furniture so I've been busy replacing it and we're also getting things ready for Hana's big birthday gift from us. What's that you ask? She's getting "young lady furniture," as she calls it, and she is SO EXCITED! And I think I just might be even more excited than she is about it! She's getting a couple of true antiques that have been in my family for a very long time, one being Jennifer's bed when she was a little girl and the other being a nightstand my grandmother gave me that belonged to her mother or maybe it was her grandmother, I cannot remember. Regardless, it is old, beautiful and dear to my heart. But not so dear that I wouldn't let Hana have it. I don't think anything would make Memaw happier than to know it will soon belong to my daughter. I'm sure she's looking down and smiling. Brad is going to work his magic on the bed and the nightstand and we'll pair it with a new dresser and shelf...not to mention the beautiful quilt set I bought her. I just can't wait to crawl in bed with her! LOL

So that's that. I need to go get Miss Hana Grace in the bath tub and maybe I'll be able to stay up tonight to finally watch one of our four recorded episodes of Dexter. I've got to catch up! I love that show!

But first I have to stop and watch John Travolta shake it. Joe has Saturday Night fever on.
