Carving Pumpkins

Friday night we popped in a "scary" movie and settled on the floor to carve a pumpkin. We watched Monster House, which was Hana's choice. It was rated PG but was actually a little freaky in several parts. It didn't phase Hana at all though. She enjoyed every second of it. I can't wait to watch Nightmare on Elm Street with her! Freddy was always my most (and least) favorite. I wonder how long I'll wait. I think I saw it the year it came out, which was 1984. I was born in 1981. You do the math. LOL Okay, maybe I didn't really watch it for the first time when I was 3, but maybe I did. Daddy had the "real" knife and Hana had a plastic one. But she was a big help.

There was no way she was going to stick her hand inside that pumpkin.

A couple of our seeds were sprouting. Do you know how much I would have loved to cut into a pumpkin and find a baby pumpkin on the inside?

Hana had a vivid idea of how we should carve the pumpkin. This was her sketch of what it should look like. (The mouth is on th eleft and the eyes are on the right.)

She eventually dug in!
And here's the finished product!
