Bowling

Last night we did not stay home and watch Dora's Big Birthday Adventure. No, we watched that today and, although Hana enjoyed it, I as an adult was disappointed. I truly thought the episode was going to be a big party for Dora, but it was just another of her adventures and a total Wizard of Oz knockoff! Oh, well! I suppose all they were aiming to do was entertain my two-year-old and not me, so their plan worked!

So where were we last night you ask? We started the evening off at a birthday dinner for a friend of Joe's and then it was time for a little family bowling night with Joe's fraternity. Guess who was there! Well, none other than fellow Chi Phi offspring Charles Harry!

The kids were super excited to be at the bowling alley.
Hana adored her bowling shoes!

They patiently waited their turn. Well, they somewhat sat nicely when they weren't running over to some random video-type game to "look at the lights."

Hana thoroughly enjoyed bowling and made sure I knew she did not need my help. Nope, she carried her six-pound ball and put it on the little ramp thing all by herself. Ever so often when I saw her struggling, I would run and lend a hand and she would graciously say, "Thank you for helping me, Momma, but go away now."

They were also very good cheerleaders when it wasn't their turn. You could catch Hana, at any given moment, yelling, "Go, Daddy, Go!"

Once she even ran up to him mid-swing and he almost lost his balance, afraid he might hit her. He didn't come close to hitting her with the ball at all, but it was sure funny to watch!

Bowling, what fun. Hana looked like she was really enjoying herself. And little Charles is such a good looking little boy. I bet they had lots of fun. Did mommy and daddy have fun, bet you did.
