Everything's Coming Up Roses

I had thrown in the towel. I decided I could grow a rose bush, just not the roses themselves. I did everything I knew to do, I even looked on the Internet to see if anyone had any advice and eventually just gave up. Then this happened:

I bet all the rain we recently had helped. I'm not one for finicky flowers, I have no idea why I wanted a rose bush! Obviously because they're pretty, but I never knew how much work they are. Mine doesn't bloom like all the others I see. Neighbors have bushes full of roses, I'll be lucky to get a few like I did last year. I'm not one to sit outside and talk to my flowers, maybe that's what they're in need of. I guess I'm developing a love/hate relationship with my rose bush. ;-) But I do love this overwhelming sense of accomplishment I feel looking at this beautiful flower!

I am so glad you rose bush bloomed, however, I have to say it again...you need to plant it in the ground with peet moss, and fertilizer, and you will have it forever. Now the hard part, putting it where it will look good and grow. Good luck to you on that one...I have them and they are growing and blooming but I still have to watch them all the time.
