Joe vs. The Volcano?

Nope. I've had a front-row seat to the showing of Joe vs. The Kidney Stone, and I'm happy to report that Joe is winning! ;-) The pain came on suddenly Sunday evening and was so intense that we found ourselves in an urgent care facility around 9:00 pm. He was given lots of Demerol as well as Hydrocodone for pain and some other stuff for nausea. They gave him 48 hours to pass it on his own. If not, then he would have been sent to a specialist. Thankfully, after about 30 hours of intense "labor" (we jokingly call it now) he passed a pretty big stone (which some of you were fortunate enough to receive a picture of via text message - 'cause I'm awesome like that...LOL!) and has continued to pass sand-like stones ever since. The worst seems to be behind us and he should be heading back to work tomorrow. Right now he is taking a nap with Hana Grace. He really seems worn out. He has not taken any pain medicine today, so he is definitely feeling better. Thank you all for your kind words and concern. I cannot believe how many of you have called and texted to make sure he is doing alright. Your love is felt and we greatly appreciate it! With things returning to normal, I should get some Hana posts up soon!

Glad to hear Joe is O.K.Funny how a teeny, tiny stone can bring a big man to his knees with pain. However,Joe should do a follow up with his private doctor.Gout and kidney stones go hand and hand.Joe will learn what causes stones and how to prevent them ever coming back.
