Hana was dressed in her version of lederhosen and ready for Oktoberfest!
It wasn't long until Jenno (yep, Hana gave Jennifer a name this weekend), Josh and Angela arrived and we loaded up and headed to the festivities.
First stop: brats & kraut.
Hana prefers beer brats - she makes her Daddy so proud! LOL
We enjoyed some impressive yodeling while we ate.
Then we headed for the shade! It was so hot in the sun, but we found it quite nice in the shade.
Hana had a major case of "happy feet." She loved all the German music - once again making her Daddy proud.
We eventually had to venture out of the shade to find the German dancers.
Hana was mesmerized by them.
She just couldn't help but to join in.
NeeNee's purse was really heavy. Probably because she keeps it stuffed with surprises for Hana!
Hana even got a pretty new bracelet, which she is now completely obsessed with and must wear at all times (except for when she's sleeping or bathing).
We even got to see some giant puppies!
This Mastiff is only NINE months old! How precious!
A great time was had by all.
But we eventually grew too hot, sweaty and tired to be there any longer and it was time to go.
Auf wiedersehen, Oktoberfest!

I realize this post may have been a tad confusing for some of you who follow my blog but don't know us personally. I always refer to my husband and his father as potato-loving Irish, yet in this post I talk about how Hana's love of German food and culture this weekend made her Daddy proud. This is not because he is German but because he has a love for the culture. Joe was in German Club in high school and even had the opportunity to be a foreign exchange student there and took the opportunity to immerse himself in their culture. FYI: He also studied Japanese and their culture for many more years - hence the name Hana, which means flower or blossom in Japanese. Joe has a unique knack for picking up languages, which I am so very envious of. He claims to be "losing" his German and Japanese due to lack of use, but he can sure impress me when he turns it on! He also is able to carry on an impressive conversation in Spanish as well as in Russian! He'll be embarrassed to read this, but I love to brag on him and to my remarks he will just say "It's really not that good. My (insert foreign language here) is awful!" But to me, girl who made straight A's in Spanish honors and is now basically only able to remember how to count and say the alphabet, it's pretty darn impressive! I was never even able to roll my R's!
