Angela is here! We had so much fun with her yesterday! She had a nice flight and hopefully made it without contracting the Swine Flu. Yes, we were admittedly a bit afraid for her to be confined in an airplane, but she took lots of disinfectant and so far so good. Her Mom flies in tonight and they'll be staying at a hotel over by the wedding venue we're going to look at this weekend. So after today we'll see her again Sunday to do that and then she'll be back to stay with us once she takes her Mom to the airport. I'm glad she and her Mom are also going to have some quality time together. We're having lots of fun and plan to have lots more. We just wish Josh were here too!!! Angela got to see first-hand how Hana believes she and Josh live in our guest room. When Angela asked her "Where's Josh?" Hana walked over and looked towards the room. I guess she figures Angela has finally (after 4 months) come out of the room to play, when the heck is Uncle Josh going to come back out to play?" LOL Hana showed Angela some of her awesome dance moves and also showed her her new-found attitude. Now for some pics!
This is my silly baby after yesterday's breakfast of a banana and a cereal bar. She ended up wearing most of the cereal bar:
It was mashed all in her hair so we had to take an early morning bath!
The past couple weeks Hana has entered a "baby stage." Every morning when I get her out of her crib she says, "Mommy, baby," and points to her shelf of stuffed animals. She'll pick out one, I'll go to walk away and again she says, "Mommy, baby," and points again. After she has a baby in each arm she is satisfied and gives them a giant hug and each a kiss! Well, last night she did something new. See, we followed the guidelines to helping protect her from SIDS to an extreme. I have a friend whose baby died of SIDS many years ago, so it really hit home with me after hearing her tragic story. Needless to say, until last night the only thing that has ever been in Hana's crib is her. No blanket, no stuffed animal, nothing. Just a crib with a very firm mattress and a sheet and Hana Grace on top. She is old enough now to add those other things, but I haven't really seen the point. She sleeps in thick jammies, so there's no need for a blanket right now and she's never really seemed interested in taking anything to bed with her - until last night. We have a pretty pink toddler quilt and pillow that her Great Aunt Dian got her, but I think we'll save it for her toddler bed. I figure she'll get all the "big girl" accessories when we convert her crib to her "big girl" bed. Anyhow, what happened last night? I was putting her to bed and as we passed her shelf she said, "Mommy, baby," and pointed at it. I carried her over, she grabbed a baby doll and held it out away from her, towards her crib. I walked her over to her crib and she threw the baby doll inside. I told her night night and performed our night time ritual and put her in her crib. She immediately grabbed her baby, gave it a big hug and a kiss and told me "night night!" Her Daddy was very upset that he was not here to witness this. Our renters are moving out, so he was at the rental house doing a walk through. He got to peek in at her via the baby monitor and, sure enough, you could see her all snuggled up to her baby. Here she is when I went in to get her out of bed this morning. Notice the baby:
She brought the baby out of bed with her, but we still had to stop by the shelf to grab another baby:
Yes, I am constantly carrying babies back upstairs and replenishing the shelf! LOL
