and a small cake (white with buttercream icing, just like I'd hoped for)!
Propped up in front of the gifts were 3 cards: "To my wife," To Mommy," and "To my two-legged Mommy!" Joe then stepped out from around the garage. He had the day off! And he was holding breakfast and coffee! This was going to be the best day EVER! Over breakfast Joe informed me that I was going to be receiving a massage (that's an interesting story) and that I was not allowed to change a single diaper ALL DAY LONG! Maybe that's a hint as to what he would like for Father's Day??? LOL (I said Father's Day because she might not be in diapers for his birthday in October! Potty training begins on the 26th of this month, when she turns 18 months, I think she's ready...maybe) Christine and Charles Harry surprised me with a gift delivered to my door so we decided to include her in the day's festivities. We all had lunch and then Joe babysat the kiddos while she and I went to get a mani/pedi. So fun! We had such a good time! We definitely need to take Joe up on his offer to watch the kids so we can do that more often. Are you beginning to see what a wonderful husband I have? I did get a massage yesterday evening (You'll have to call me for that story. I just cannot bring myself to blog it!). It was a nice massage. Joe did a fantastic job by making that happen for me.
I received all kinds of phone calls, texts, emails and real life cards. Look at what the fabulous JennEllen made me:
Here's the various others:
Notice Maggie Simpson? Guess who that one's from? Why, none other than Miss Hana Grace! For dinner, I requested Joe made homemade chicken fried steak, and he did. Boy, did he! He made chicken fried steak with jalapeno-flavored gravy (you heard me), mashed potatoes (none of the fake stuff in this house, not with two Irish men living here anyway!), Brussels sprouts and macaroni and cheese...sorry, I had to stop typing for a minute to pick the food out of my teeth! LOL I am still full from last night's dinner!
As you can see, I dug in and then said, "Crap! I meant to take a picture! Hana also discovered she has a taste for green onions. No doubt there's Johnson blood running through her veins! LOL
Oh, what a glorious day it was! The only thing that could have made it better is if the rest of the family were here! (And for the record, I did not change one single diaper yesterday) Thank you, Joseph! I love you! You're the best husband EVER!
Today we had to take care of some more stuff at the rental house. While we waited around for appointments to show, Hana decided to collect some rocks. (Dian says she takes after Pagan!)
When we got home we had lots do to, too. Well, lots of playing to do, that is!
Hey, family! Remember how I used to set my dolls up like a classroom and "teach" them? Look how Hana places her babies. I'm starting to get a strange feeling about this.
We've been struggling at bath time lately. Hana has decided she does not like for her hair to be rinsed. I understand that it's because the water gets in her face, but she squirms around so much, it just cannot be helped. You know me, I read about it! I found a tip in my "What To Expect: The Toddler Years" book. It suggests to bring a baby into the bath so that she can wash the baby's hair and poor water over the baby's head. So tonight, we bathed with Dora (Thanks, Dawn! LOL)
As you can see, Hana was very excited to have a baby in the bath with her.
And this brings us to another episode of "What Lies Beneath?" This time I think I see some oatmeal, pasta, fig newtons, Wheat Chex...
I found some spinnas (sp?) on my way home from the Frisk today! Check them out! They don't stop:
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
My brother will appreciate that one. I dedicate that to you, Big O!
And the birthday bashing is not over yet! We're going to Scarborough Fair tomorrow! It's been too long since I've been. I can hardly wait!
