We're baaack! What a wonderful mini-vacation we had. It wasn't too far of a drive to reach our halfway point of Henrietta. Hana Grace was such a good girl in the car. She slept half the way and played the rest of the way.
We stayed at the Best Western, the only hotel there. Seriously. It was very nice though. We could actually see it for miles down the road! LOL It was the only building (of that size) as far as the eye could see in all directions!

Once we arrived at our hotel, Hana could not wait to start exploring. She started with the trash can. (Luckily it was empty!)
Here's Hana with her Gramps and Nanny getting on the elevator. Yes, I said Nanny. We started with Grammy, but Hana decided this weekend that Mom is officially "Nanny." She left our hotel room and Hana Grace screamed at the door, "Nanny! Nanny!" So there it is. Now we just have to work on "Gramps." Who knows what he'll end up being called!
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was great. Hana loved to take these stairs one at a time - going up and coming down. She's such a big girl.
Henrietta had a lovely courthouse. We had to pull over to take pictures. There wasn't much to see in Henrietta, but we saw enough to feel as though we had entered some kind of bizarro world! There were all these signs up about "dropping your change."
We decided it might be fun to travel to every county seat and take a pic of the courthouse and eat at the Dairy Queen. We can check Henrietta of that list.
Just about the only place in town to eat was the DQ! Friday night we just had ice cream for dinner since we had a big late lunch back in Bowie. Peggy, the nice lady working at the DQ even made the comment, "If you're ever across the street, you know I like change." WTF??? The only thing across the street was a Movie Gallery and a Dollar General.
Next door to our hotel was a mini horse farm! Hana loved looking at the "puppies!" LOL When we walked up they all came up to us, I guess people usually feed and pet them. Not us. I have watched enough episodes of Rob & Big to know that mini horses bite!
That evening we took advantage of the indoor pool at the hotel. Hana Grace splashed around and even kicked her feet a bit!
Hana slept, well, like a baby that night.
The next morning, Mom and Dad entered the room Hana and I shared to find her sitting in the dresser drawer. She had a fascination with all the drawers. If anything went missing we knew to just check the drawers!
We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel, complete with Texas-shaped waffles. I put the butter right about where we were located in the great state.
There were all these trucks full of Golden Retriever dogs and puppies in the parking lot of our hotel. We spent the weekend trying to figure what the deal was with that...we never figured it out.
Then it was on to Chillicothe to visit Kenny & Dolores. On the way to their house we drove right by the Chillicothe Medical Center and Hospital.
Kenny, Dolores, and their entire family welcomed us with open arms. They all even took off their shoes for Hana!
Hana Grace played
and played
and played
and when she got tired, she played some more.
She even pointed at the deer heads mounted on their walls and exclaimed, "Puppy!" LOL
After a GREAT visit (and a lot of venison) later, we headed back to Henrietta for the night. But wait, I think I left my cell phone in Chillicothe. Yep, I did. Luckily Kenny & Dolores met us at the truck stop in Harrold with it. We finally made it back to Henrietta and, once again, we enjoyed a nice dinner at the DQ. We ate real food this time, not just ice cream. Peggy must have had the night off because we didn't get to see her again.
It was a little tough to get the baby girl to fall asleep that night. She was mad as fire at Gramps. He was picking on her and I guess she just was not in the mood. I think she was too sleepy. Gramps & Nanny went back to their room around 9:30 or so and Hana laughed and rolled from one side of the bed to the other until about 11:00. Finally we both fell asleep.
After breakfast the next morning we loaded our things in the car and got ready to head home.
The littlest one was ready to see her daddy!
This was the view from the hotel parking lot:
A whole lot of nothing!
A real life tumbleweed!
Once back in town, we were so happy to see green foliage! It was as if spring had sprung while we were away!
Hana Grace was happy to be home. She immediately immersed herself in her chores. She decided to begin with mopping the house. Maybe she was getting ready for her Granny's arrival!
Yes, Hana's Granny flew in from Tennessee yesterday evening. We went and visited with her over at Victoria's once they got there. Hana welcomed her with open arms and lots of hugs and kisses. We are looking forward to seeing her more today!
***As I mentioned above, Hana and I both ate venison this weekend. Can you believe it? Although it goes against everything I stand for, which isn't much (LOL), I couldn't be rude. Honestly, it wasn't bad. I convinced myself it was beef and really it tasted like beef. That may have been because it was smothered in BBQ sauce, but hey, it worked! Hana spit most of hers out. I ended up with a napkin full of venison in my hand! She enjoyed the potato salad and baked beans though!

We had a wonderful time, and I wish we were still on our journey today. I miss you both very much! I am glad Hana is enjoying her visit from Granny!
