Go Pampers!

Go Pampers! I yelled that phrase a lot as a young girl wearing a cheerleader outfit rooting on my big brother's football team, the Panthers. I remember when either Dian or Nana made that cheerleader outfit and Mom ironed on the "M." I thought the "M" just magically appeared there.

These days I have an entirely different reason to yell "Go Pampers!" We have tried just about every diaper out there and we are proud to be a Pampers family...thus far. We'll see how the next baby is shaped. Another brand might fit the next one better, but as for now we are Pampers people (and napkin people too).

In just about every package of Pampers there is a $1.50 coupon off another package of Pampers. Awesome. That is, until she hit size 5. Hana has been wearing size 5 Cruisers for quite some time now. Inside the size 5 packages they put coupons for Pull Ups instead of more diapers. I had a nice stockpile of diapers coupons working so I had just been using them but holding on to the Pull Ups coupons knowing that one day I would use them.

Ladies and gentlemen, that day has come and gone. At the store earlier this week I found myself on the diaper aisle with no coupon. I did, however, have a coupon for Pull Ups. I bought the Pull Ups. Now, this DOES NOT mean we are "potty training." I guess it kind of does since they are feel and learn Pull Ups, but I am not admitting to being in potty training mode as of this time.

My itty bitty tiny little girl is only 16 months old. SHE IS STILL A BABY! Her pediatrician recommended potty training between 18 and 24 months - closer to 24 months. But when I told him she is starting to let me know when she poops, he said if I wanted I could sit her on her potty and if she succeeded, celebrate. Nice and simple. So far we just sit her on her potty while we potty (she is usually clothed), but that's about it. She has yet to "take care of business" in anything other than her diaper - oh, and on her Daddy when she was younger. LOL!

Let me just say that I am terrified of potty training. Why? I have never heard a good potty training story. Never. I have welcomed everything thus far with open arms, but potty training terrifies me! EVERYONE has a horrible story.

As I stood there on that aisle holding a package of Pull Ups, Hana's life flashed before me - and it wasn't very long! I just decided that it won't hurt anything to put her in Pull Ups. At the very worst they won't do any good at all other than their job of absorbing tee tee and poop. On the other hand they just might help her feel and learn when she goes potty. So that's where we stand. WE ARE NOT POTTY TRAINING, we are just wearing Pull Ups because that's all the coupons I have! LOL If by some miracle it works, it works. If not, then I will really try when I feel she is ready for full-on potty training. So there it is.

Here's Miss Hana Grace modeling her very first pair of Pull Ups - they are pink and they have Dora on them!
