I have stopped trying to organize it. I try so hard to make sure I keep the door closed, but if I forget, the second I turn my head she is gone. If she ever goes missing in the house, I know exactly where to find her - in my shoes!
After a quick stop at Mickey D's for some crack coffee (thanks a lot, Mom!), we were on our way to meet Jennifer at the mall. We entered through Nordstrom so we had to check out the baby girl clothes. They have such cute things, but I just cannot fathom spending that kind of money on something she won't wear more than a few times. Even their clearance items are too rich for my blood! LOL
Then it was off to The Body Shop. They have new oils and they were running a special. Spend $25 and get a free body wash. Jenn and I both LOVE their new Apple Blossom, and I also bought their new Red Poppies. I am burning Red Poppies right now by itself and it smells wonderful! Needless to say, we both somehow managed to spend $25 and received our free body wash - Satsuma scented! From there we hit Bath & Body Works. They have a few new scents as well. Butterfly Kisses - Jenn and I will both be purchasing that oil as soon as it goes on sale! As well as another new scent called Pineapple Orchid. OMG! They both smelled so good! They also have a new hand soap scent. I think it was Mango Mint. Jennifer bought a small hand sanitizer of it. It smelled really good too. Then again, does anything in that store really smell bad? I may not care for a particular scent, but I have never thought any of them smell bad!
What happened next? We found a secluded sitting area and changed Hana into her Easter dress!
Yes, I was that mom - and I loved it!
There was no line to see the Easter Bunny! They had it set up so darn cute, too! I think Jenn said she wants a bird house of this size in her back yard??? LOL
The kid in front of Hana screamed her head off, but that did not seem to phase our little girl.
We made our way up the path towards the Easter Bunny as he waved at Hana and blew her kisses!
He sat down, patted his lap, and I handed her over...
Jennifer snapped this pic (with their permission!) and the photographer was able to get a great picture as well. Hana Grace did such a good job! She is nothing like I was when it came to that sort of thing. Ask Jennifer about going with me to the mall to see Santa when I was little. I'll just say this. Small-town girl + over-crowded big city mall + claustrophobia = melt down followed by small-town girl hanging her head out of the car window on the way home to get fresh air. Need I say more?
Once that was taken care of and Hana was back in her regular clothes, we finished up our mall shopping and headed out for some lunch. Hana really enjoyed her bean and cheese quesadillas. She preferred to eat them like this:
She would just hold it up with her fork and take a little bite out of it. She also really enjoyed the black bean dip they give you (at Gloria's). She would dip her chip, lick the dip off and dip the chip again. I tried to tell her that that's called double-dipping and we don't like double dippers, but she didn't really seem to care. She fed her Aunt Jennifer some of her double-dipped chips and Jenn ate them! It didn't take long for her to kindly refuse "bites" though! LOL There's nothing like a double-dipped baby-slobbered chip! She also showed off her water bottle drinking skills. Jennifer was most impressed by the amount of chewed food Hana was able to get inside of her bottle of water though. (backwash, yum!)
We needed to shop off some calories after a delicious lunch, so we headed on over to Carter's. That store is not designed for Moms with strollers. That has never made sense to me! So, we decided it might be a good idea to take Hana in strollerless. Let's just say that after Hana ran to the end of the store and back a couple times I realized it probably wasn't a very good idea. Next time I need to bring the leash!!! Or maybe just the umbrella stroller. For some reason they moved their play area all the way to the back of the store so it wasn't convenient for her to play there while we shopped because I couldn't keep an eye on her.
She played a little, danced a little and even cleaned a little. Oh, yes! She climbed under a clothes rack and started picking up clothes that had fallen off and handed them to me. Jennifer ended up taking Hana outside and sat with her on a bench while I finished up.
After I did some damage in Carter's (Hana got some really cute new clothes!), we all sat on the bench and talked a bit. Next door to Carter's is Gattitown and they have a train that drives the kids around the parking lot. The nice man who drives the train offered us a ride, so off we went!
Now Hana likes to say "choo choo!" What else does Hana like to say these days? Well, it's still all about the shoes! "Shoe, shoe, shoe!" She knows so many body parts now, the newest ones are knees and eyebrows (or eye-bees as she calls them). Joe always calls his dad "turkey," so Hana called him a turkey today - no joke! LOL She not only said it once, but about a million times! "Turkey! Turkey! Turkey!" LMAO (For you Zoners, that's Laughing My Ass Off - and that's what you do when something funny happens. You know, like when a 16-month old calls her 61 year old Grandpa a turkey!)
We didn't get home until after 5:00 this evening! We had such a good day. I think we should meet up with Jenn like that once a month! (and see her in between there too, of course!)
Here are a couple of pics from Sunday that I never shared. Joe grilled out steaks for us and swordfish for Wayne. He also used the thing I bought him at First Monday years ago and stuffed jalapenos with shrimp and cheese and wrapped them in bacon.
They were so good, but the jalapenos were especially hot! We all about killed ourselves eating them. As soon as our mouths cooled down we were eating another one!
While her Daddy cooked, Hana watered my plants - in disguise. Can you see her? I thought I took a picture of her watering my plant, but I can't find her! That watering can seems to be hovering over the flower pot!
Notice the chair that has fallen over in the background? I swear this is The Windy City. If Chicago is windier, I never want to go there!

It was a great day! And I'm all for making it a monthly get-together. Hana is such a good shopper!
I got Red Poppies, too. I forgot! I tried the Apple Blossom, though, and loooove it. Just wish The Body Shop ran their oils on sale more often.
The Easter Bunny setup at the mall was quite nice. And, yes, I think that birdhouse is just right. =)
It sounds like you all had a great time...and yes, thank God Hana takes after her daddy by not freaking with unfamiliar faces, and crowds, in the city....I love you Courtney, and I'm sure I created the monster in you...I aploigize...can't wait to smell the scents, and the jalapeno's look delicious!
