Weekend With Grammy by Hana Grace

I am so sad to say goodbye to this weekend. We had so much fun. My Grammy came to visit! She showed up much earlier than expected on Friday, thanks Meshell! When Mommy put me down for my nap she said "When you wake up, it won't be long until your Grammy's here." Man, she wasn't kidding! Within 5 minutes of me waking up (and I didn't take a good nap) Mommy's phone rang and then we went outside to see Grammy in the driveway. And, better yet, she brought my good friend Mr. Guthrie!

Pagan even seemed happy to see Guthrie. She shared her pillow with him!

As if that wasn't enough, then my Aunt Victoria showed up with two adorable dresses - for me! Mommy says one of them is going to be my Easter dress. She keeps talking about how I'm going to go on an Easter Egg Hunt this year. I'm not sure what that is, but I know it will be fun if Mommy says it will be. Apparently Easter is a big deal around here. Daddy says that's the day they found out I was in Mommy's tummy, Easter 2007.

Daddy even got home from work a little early on Friday, just in time to tell Aunt Victoria bye-bye. That evening Grammy, Daddy, Mommy and I went out to eat Mexican food. Yummy! Then it was back home to play a little more. I showed Grammy I can ride my horsey.

And all too quickly is was time to take a bath and go to bed a little early because I didn't nap well. I was SO SLEEPY!

The next morning Grammy and Mommy took me shopping. That's one of my most favorite things to do, in case you didn't know. We went to Hobby Lobby, Carter's, and Bath & Body Works. At Hobby Lobby, Grammy bought me a toy car.

And Grammy bought me LOTS and LOTS of new clothes at Carter's. They're so cute and so very Hana. I just had to put on one of the new outfits immediately!

Once we got back home we just did a lot of playing. I had fun taking my new clothes out of the bag and distributing them to Mommy and Grammy.

We played right up until bath time and then came bed time. When I got up this morning, we picked up right where we left off - playing! We went to the park and I got to show Grammy how I like to slide and swing.

I even got to go down the biggest slide I've ever seen! I couldn't go down it by myself, of course, but Mommy and Daddy took turns going down with me.

After some practice going down the smaller slides

I got to go down the little slide all by myself.

There were lots of cool tunnels and things for me to play in

and on.

After Grammy fed me my lunch (even though I can successfully feed myself now using both a fork and a spoon) she said goodbye. I was sad to see her go, but she might be back next weekend with Gramps! Oh, I hope so! Mommy and Daddy say we'll be going down there the weekend of President's Day. February really is the month of love - I might get to see my Grammy and Gramps every single weekend in February! Not to mention the fact that I'll also get to see my Great Aunt Dian, Nana and Brad when we go down to the lake!

I had such a good time this weekend. I was so glad to be able to show Grammy my cabinet

and how I know how to climb.

Grammy even helped Mommy fix the falling flowers before she left. As you can see, they added some butterflies, ladybugs and dragonflies to the decor.

I'm happy that I got to show Grammy how my new friend, Shane, taught me how to throw the ball. I also showed her how I like play with imaginary toys and I showed her how I like my blocks "just so."
She even got to see how I pick up every little thing off the floor just to drive Mommy crazy and prove to her that her floor is never as clean as she thinks it is!

I'll sure miss Grammy putting me to bed tonight.
