All Is Well

What a day. Have you ever had one of those days that you just can't wait for it to end and forget all about it? One of those days that you wish had never happened? Well that was today. I think this is the first time I have sat down today to rest.

We had a little scare with Pagan today. After I gave her her medicine this morning, she ate her breakfast and threw it all up. Guthrie does this a lot and Pagan used to when she was younger, I think it's due to eating too fast. I didn't think much of it at first glance because all I saw was food, but after closer inspection I noticed a bit of blood. Long story short, we ended up at the vet and they kept her most of the day to run tests and x-ray her to rule out cancer and tumors. Two things a boxer owner fears most because they are so prone to it.

I was so sick to my stomach all day long just waiting for that call from the vet. I scrubbed this house from top to bottom in about an hour. Hana was napping during that time, so when I finished with the house I moved on to the laundry. It's amazing how much you can get done when you're trying to keep your mind off of something! In the end, the tests came back normal. She's fine and healthy! They think it's probably just the antibiotics (for her skin condition) upsetting her tummy and who knows about the blood. It was a small amount, but enough to scare me (especially after everything else we've been through with her). She doesn't take her pills well so we have to basically shove them down her throat so that might have something to do with the blood, or maybe a pill got caught in her throat and scratched it. Like I said, who knows. But the wonderful news is that all the tests and x-rays came back fine!!! She had even lost two more pounds!

The weight loss is another reason I'm glad she had the blood work done. I just had a bad feeling about it, but I guess it really is just her thyroid becoming normal. So, after an emotionally exhausting day, I couldn't be happier to say that all is well! And to those of you who knew about this all day, thank you for your prayers (Pagan thanks you too).

On another note, yet still in the same ballpark, my blood work also came back normal. When my doc called in the midst of all of today's happenings, I had no idea why he was calling. I forgot all about having blood drawn yesterday! That's a miracle too because I HATE having blood drawn. It's a huge ordeal for me!

I have some great pics and videos of Miss Hana, but it is well past her bath time and almost her bed time so I'll try to post them tomorrow. I'm off to get the munchkin ready for bed. TTYL!

Courtney,
I am glad yesterday is over, and Pagan wants to thank you for taking such good care of her, and loving her soooooooo much. I know it was a very challenging day, and I wish I could have been there with all of you for support! But you are an amazing parent, and handled it all with Grace, and yes even Hana Grace!!

Glad to hear Pagan is OK. I hate to be the one to say it but, there will be more days like yesterday to come. Never play the why me Lord game. Situations will often arise, deal with it the best you can. Adapt, overcome and drive on. I only ask of you one thing. Never ask Obama for help. LOL ! Luv Dad.
