Last night as I was texting back and forth with Josh concerning the small earthquake he had just experienced. Yes, they had ANOTHER one! He says it was no big deal, there was no damage or anything but he certainly felt the earth shake. (I cannot imagine that feeling!) So, as I was saying: I was in bed texting back in forth with Josh, watching TV, and also watching the baby monitor. Hana was laying in a strange position. She often sits up in her crib with her legs hanging out through the slats of wood. This time she was laying on her back with one leg through the crib. She slept like this for several hours. Every once in a while she would fuss for a second but that was it. I debated going and pushing her leg through only because it was bothering me seeing it like that, but I never did for fear it would wake her. Plus, it didn't seem to be bothering her...at least I thought. I think it was somewhere around midnight when the wailing began. I watched her on the monitor and she wasn't rolling over or standing up like she normally was. Her other leg was kicking around as well as her arms. Was she stuck? I rushed up the stairs to confirm that yes, indeed, her little leg was stuck. I tried to wiggle it free but she was fighting me, so I had to go wake her Daddy. I distracted her while he pulled her leg out. I know what you're thinking, and yes, I first thought the same thing. "We have to buy a new crib. This one is dangerous!" I quickly came to my senses. She is not hurt, not even bruised. I think she really could have freed herself but her leg seemed to have fallen asleep so I think that impaired her ability to remove it. I think that's what upset her the most was that her leg had fallen asleep and she was more than likely experiencing that horrible tingling sensation. The poor little thing. It just goes to show that no matter how prepared you are, anything can happen. I picked this crib in particular because the slats were not too far apart, thinking about her little head or something being caught in it which would be much worse! Her legs normally fit through, she was just in a position that the very top part of her leg (which is the chubbiest) was lodged in just so. She slept the rest of the night in our room in her playpen because I was not about to put her back in that evil crib! LOL But tonight she will resume sleeping in her own bed. That is the conclusion of Crib Break: Season 2 "Falling Asleep on the Job"
Today we went to our friends, Christine and Charles (aka Charlie Brown's) house for a long-awaited play date. It had been way too long since we had all gotten together. It was a small group this time. Hana and me, Charles and Christine of course, and Harlika brought her two cutie pies. Charlie Brown is crawling now! He's a little army crawler, down low to the earth. And also, Isaac is just about walking. Harlika said he took his first few steps all by himself last night and he was sure getting around today. They're all growing up way too fast! Here are some pics of the kiddos.
Charles:Isaac:Luc: This is Hana and the cabinet that kept getting her in trouble. She couldn't help herself! All she wanted to do was open every door and drawer and pull out what was inside. And here is my 80s rocker chick. I just took this video as I was typing the entry above. I looked over and she had put all these "bracelets" on herself so I just had to grab the camera. I think she's trying to be Cyndi Lauper. After all, Girls Just Want to Have Fun!
