"Baby Steps" an entry by Hana Grace

This entry is dedicated to my Great Aunt Dian, My Nana, & My Uncle Brad (second-cousin just sounds silly). I hear they've been without electricity for two days now & there's no telling how much longer it'll be before it comes back on. I'm glad they're at Gramps and Grammy's house. (I wish I were there too!) It's too hot outside to not have an A/C. I know my Mommy would be in a really bad mood if she didn't have any A/C, so I hope they're staying happy. Hurricane Ike did a lot of damage, but fortunately it was not as bad as they had anticipated. We got lots & lots of rain up here. The grass looks so pretty! I heard Grammy & Gramps went surfing on the lake yesterday. At least that's how I understood it, I was half asleep in the back seat.

Mommy & Daddy have been so busy packing things up. The house is really starting to feel empty. There's nothing on the walls and nothing pretty sitting around. All the pictures of me have been wrapped in newspaper and put in boxes. Mommy hasn't touched my room yet though. She says that's next. I'm going to be sad to leave my pretty room. Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Josh, & Gramps and Grammy worked really hard to get that room ready for me & I have really enjoyed it. Mommy says she still has lots of the border and paint left so we'll decorate my new room too. My new room is going to be much bigger than the one I have now and I'll be keeping most of my toys is the play room, so that'll make it seem even bigger!

Well, I suppose it's time to show you why I've titled this entry "Baby Steps."
