I'm so sorry I've been slacking lately. We are just so busy right now. I haven't wanted to blog about some things that are going on for fear that I might jinx something! But here it goes:
Joe and I started looking for a new house a couple months back. We really thought it would take a lot longer to find our dream house though! Last Saturday we went to look at a couple houses that we just fell in love with when we drove by to look at the exterior, so naturally we wanted to look inside. The first one was awful on the inside. The upstairs master bath's sink was stopped up, almost overflowing, and causing a leak in the downstairs formal living area. Not to mention the unfinished flooring in several of the rooms. No thanks! Now, this came just after we had looked into several foreclosures that ended up being in horrible shape. We weren't purposely looking for foreclosures, there's just tons of them right now. I realize that it is possible to find a really good deal when it comes to foreclosures, but our hunt went so poorly that now, in my mind FORECLOSURE = NIGHTMARE!!! LOL Needless to say the first house we looked at left a bad taste in our mouths. We actually pulled up to the second house saying that we plan to look at lots of houses to find what we love, hate, must have, and so on. We were not planning on finding the perfect home any time soon. As Ryan (our realtor) opened the door to the second house I think I heard angels sing. As we walked through the house and looked in the rooms and looked in the back yard my heart was racing. I LOVED this house! I couldn't picture myself in any other house. It was like when I found my wedding dress! I was scared to say anything because I didn't know what Joe was thinking, but I hadn't heard him pointing out any flaws as I was used to in the other houses. As we walked out of the last room he said the magical words to Ryan, "So how do we go about making an offer?" Yes! Yes! Yes! We made an offer, they countered, we made another, they accepted, we had it inspected, we're in a contract. But it's not official yet. ANYTHING could still happen. I am not a patient person so this is a difficult time for me! I really hope I'm not jinxing anything by putting this information out in the world! If we get the house we'll be moving to the city my Daddy was born in. Talk about going full circle!
Now we're getting our house ready to rent out. If you can believe this, I put the sign in the yard Tuesday morning and someone called about it that very day. A man even knocked on the door inquiring about it yesterday. Hooray! I'm just going to hold my breath and keep my fingers crossed until everything is said and done.
That being said, Hana Grace is practically walking now. She's taken several steps now, but I don't know if I truly consider that walking. I've created a poll on the right of the blog to get your opinions.
She's really talking now too. She mimics EVERYTHING! I told her I loved her the other night and she said "I you." Oh, that girl just melts my heart! Her favorite thing to say right now is "No no no no no." She can really get an attitude when she says it too!
Well, that's it. You're pretty much all caught up. Now hopefully you understand why my blogs have gotten so few and far between. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I've started writing a book. Those of you who really know me know that writing is a passion of mine, so I'm really excited about this. In my very first blog entry I stated that Jennifer suggested I create a blog and I thought it was a good idea to document Hana's life and was hopeful it would arouse my inner writer. Well, I guess it has! We'll see what happens.
I promise to get some pics and videos posted today. Speaking of pics, you should go to Jenn's blog and check out the Hana-licious pics she took Monday! They get better every time (and Hana gets prettier).
TTFN!
