A night on the town?

So Joe decided I needed to get out of the house and spend some time with adults. He recently met up with Keith and they discussed how we all needed to get together, so we did, kind of. I don't know exactly where or how all the misinformation came about! I was told by Joe that Keith had a friend in a band who was playing at a place here in town. Then the "place" became Rock House Live, which is a place at Frankford and the Tollway we used to frequent often BH (before Hana). I guess Keith told Joe that they had closed the old place and moved it up here. Then the actual location was changed. Instead of being up here, now it's in Plano and it's called Legacy Live. Whatever. I asked Jennifer to babysit and we were on our way. On the way there we received a phone call from Keith giving us directions and then we get a text message from him "Seems it's not what I thought." Hmm. We tried calling him and did not get an answer. I was already in panic mode because I now realize that we are going to a fancy schmancy area and we are not dressed the part. I have on a top with capris and sandals and Joe is wearing a polo, shorts, and flip flops. I absolutely hate being under dressed!

So we arrive. We do not find a place called Rock House Live nor do we find a place called Legacy Live. What we did find was Keith, his mom and dad, his 4 year old niece, 2 1/2 year old nephew and his infant nephew standing outside on a sidewalk staring at a band playing across the street...on the sidewalk. Okay, so let me go over this again. We thought we were meeting Keith and his girlfriend at a bar or a club to watch a band play. Instead we met Keith and his entire family on a sidewalk in the middle of July. There was nowhere to sit and we had to go inside a restaurant to get a drink and the drink couldn't be taken past a certain point so everyone was huddled around. It was nice to see Keith's family, his father is doing very well. Shawna apparently stayed home, Keith said she was really feeling pregnant yesterday. So about 15 minutes after our arrival it's time for Keith's family to leave so he walks with them back to the parking garage and Joe and I are standing there...sweating. What the hell are we doing? I am now extremely happy that we dressed as casual as we did, but I would soon be even happier about that.

Ten to fifteen minutes later Keith walks up and we tell him we are ready to leave. The right side of my body is wet from standing next to a fountain and the rest of me is wet with sweat. He suggests going to a restaurant nearby. I use the term nearby loosely. After about a mile and a half hike we end up at some burger place sitting at the bar sipping $9 drinks. You heard me, $9. We did, however have a great time visiting with Keith and I managed to drink enough of those $9 drinks to have a headache when I woke up this morning!

Jennifer and Hana seemed to have a good time. When we arrived back home Hana was sound to sleep and Jenn stayed and visited for a while while I had a free drink at home! I was surprised when I got up this morning and checked the blogs and saw that Jennifer had taken a few pics last night. I don't know about you, but I think the pictures get cuter every time. I know that's partly because Hana just keeps getting more beautiful, but it's also because Jennifer just keeps getting better!

Here are my faves. For the rest you can go to http://flickr.com/photos/jennellen/sets/72157606255701529/

The picture above is my typical sleepy girl. When she's tired she sucks her thumb and either rubs her ear, mine or her daddy's or she plays with her hair, mine or her daddy's. Needless to say, we love it!

In the end, I think that was just what I needed, minus the headache this morning! I couldn't wait for her to wake up this morning, though. I missed her so much last night!

Y'all have a great weekend! We'll see most of you next weekend!
