Guess It Wasn't Such A Good Idea After All

So way back before Hana liked to get into everything, when I first started baby proofing the house, I read an article about how it's a good idea to have a cabinet or drawer or two that kids can get into. That way when they're trying to get into something they're not supposed to get into you can distract them by showing them an open one that's all for them.

Fast forward to the present: Hana now gets into everything! I usually fold laundry on our bed and let Hana Grace roam around our bedroom in her walker. She has taken a liking to my jewelry cabinet. She loves to open the drawers and pull out what's inside, luckily the contents of those bottom drawers have always been relatively child friendly. It crossed my mind to make the drawer she always opens "her drawer." This made perfectly good sense to me because all of the drawers are small and light and, as I previously mentioned, are somewhat child friendly. If she were to pull the drawer out no harm could really be done. I distracted her as I put one of her toys in her new drawer and anxiously awaited her excitement as she discovered what was inside.


I guess it wasn't such a good idea after all. LOL

***No babies or jewelry cabinets were harmed in the making of this photograph, except a small ding in the jewelry cabinet, but we'll just write that off to Mommy's stupidity! Hey, it gives it character and will remind me of this day forever!
