What a wonderful trip! Hana could not have been a more well-behaved baby! We only had to stop once to feed her on the way down and we didn't have to stop at all on the way back. We arrived in Galveston at 11:30am which was nice because suddenly our 2-day weekend turned into a 3-day weekend! We were able to visit Aunt Victoria at work where Hana was passed from one admiring person to the next. She works with some wonderful ladies. They were so happy to finally meet Hana, after all they have watched her grow from the minute Jennifer sent the first picture after she was born! (Thanks again, Jennifer!)
After that we went to Victoria's house to see Wayne. Hana loves her Pop Pop! Victoria's house is lovely, she lives over a shopping strip on the Seawall and her huge balcony overlooks the ocean. I'm sure she'll miss it when she moves up here, hopefully not too much though! We had lunch with her and then made our way to our hotel in Texas City.
After Aunt Victoria picked up Tricia and Granny Massey from the airport we all met up at Hooters for a fun time. The next day was graduation day, or should I say gradulation day!
(Joe left Victoria a message on her phone and misspoke. "Congraduations, you're gratulating!" He wants to sell the message to Hallmark) It was a very nice and pretty emotional ceremony.
Following the ceremony we went back to the hotel to hang out with the family by the pool. We shared a lot of laughs over pizza and beer (Coke for Wayne & myself) and eventually ended up back at Victoria's home where we met her neighbor, Andy. This is the drunk who fell asleep mid-conversation only after threatening to fight Joe several times for no apparent reason.
The following morning we had Mother's Day brunch at IHOP before heading back home. It was a whirlwind trip, but we had a blast! Joe and I are beating ourselves up because we haven't ventured that way as often as we should. For some reason we thought it was a 7 or 8 hour drive. We're goofy. It only took us 5 hours! Not bad at all. Now we're just waiting for Aunt Victoria and Pop Pop to get their butts up here!
