I love my family...

Tonight at dinner (with mom & dad) we each had a hot jalapeƱo. We had to decide whose was the hottest. We took turns tasting, sweating & eating crackers to determine who had the hottest one. Joe's won. Dad took a big bite & his entire mouth went numb. Making memories...our way! Good times.

Up All Night to Get Lucky

Hana was singing her version of the Daft Punk song: "I'm up all night to the sun. I'm up all night to the sun. I'm up all night to get lucky." She said "That's my song. But why does he say he stays up all night to get lucky? That would just make him grumpy." Sweet innocence.

Prepping for Kindergarten

I cannot believe my little girl is about to start school. She is so excited, I am so sad, but I don't let her know it. Instead I busy myself with making sure she has school gear she loves...and, of course, I like finding a great bargain. She fell in love with her new Barbie backpack at Target last week...
We have been searching for an equally beautiful Barbie lunch box. Well, today at Toys R Us I totally scored! She hasn't seen it yet, so I hope she agrees.
It was on sale along with a Barbie Thermos & a bento box.
I was dead set on getting her a Bento box so she only has to remove one lid to get into her lunch, making it easy. The only one I was familiar with was Pottery Barn's ($16). Imagine my delight finding this one by Munchkin on sale for $6.
It even comes with a fork & spoon. I can't wait to show Hana when she gets home from camp. Now to tend to this little guy who just finished lunch.

Good morning, Sunshine

Guess Who's Back!

I was lying here in silence waiting for the kids to wake up & thought to myself, "I wonder if Blogger has an app?" Guess what, they do! My blogging problems are solved! I'm going to play around with blogging from my phone & see how it goes. Who's excited? This girl!!! (And hopefully y'all too...)
It's super easy to post pictures, like this one of Hana in her new leotard. Apparently it's THE leo to have, as she was 1of 5 girls wearing it at practice yesterday. Now let's try a video
It doesn't look like I can add videos from my phone, only pictures. How do you like this one of Liam playing? He's such a happy boy. I've been missing my blog, it was always therapeutic for me, so I'm going to give this another go. Over a year has passed since my last post, so I'm not even going to try to play catch up. I'm just going to start with my current life. Most everyone who will read this knows me anyway, so you all should be pretty caught up.

Stay tuned...

Hana & My Phone

I have this app on my phone that allows you to take silly pictures of ordinary things. The other day I found these little treasures on my phone after a drive to Dallas when Hana was supposed to be playing games on my phone. There were also lots of videos taken of random things we passed out the window.

How Courtney C's It...

Hana hadn't been very in to the whole cheerleading thing, making it difficult for me to get excited about coaching. But as soon as she put on her uniform and grabbed her pom poms, her mood changed, but mine didn't. I was still hesitant and nervous about the impending game. Sure practices are fun, but what was I supposed to do with these girls for an hour-long game?
I didn't know what to expect at out first game, which was this past Saturday, but I know I didn't expect to have as much fun as I did! Yes, it was like herding cats at times, but it was a blast nonetheless.
We even put on a halftime performance.
The girls received more cheers than the football players did! But that's not saying much. It wasn't a very lively crowd. As always, I was the loud mom on the sidelines, but this time I had seven loud little girls cheering with me.
I can definitely see how this could become addicitng...

Easter 2012: School Egg Hunt

Hana's preschool even celebrated Easter with an egg hunt. Parents were invited to hide the eggs, watch the hunt and then have lunch with the kids. It was a blast!
We seemed to hide hundreds of eggs and within 5-10 minutes every single one had been found!

Moderating Comments

An "unknown" commenter (Big O?) left a comment that all their comments need to be moderated. I just wanted to explain why that is. Once a post is more than a few days old, I have it set so that I have to approve the comment before its posted for all to see. Believe it or not, I get quite a bit of spam on older posts. For instance, I don't want someone to leave a comment about selling Viagara on my blog all about Hana. That's just creepy. So, please, comment away & if you comment on an older post, it will be moderated as soon as I check my email, which is frequently.

Easter 2012

Coloring eggs with Ninny
They turned out great!
(1st dozen)
(2nd dozen)
I have to share this story. Hana scribbled on the eggs with the "magic crayon," which was really just a clear crayon. You write on the eggs before you color them and the spots where the crayon is don't get dyed. It was difficult to see where or what you were doing, but Hana scribbled away on all the eggs.  Mom and I snuck behind her and wrote and drew things on the eggs like names, flowers and faces. Hana's reaction every time was priceless. "That really is a magic crayon! How did I put all that on those eggs?" she said.

Hana's Easter basket:
The Easter Bunny left it right out the back door, after all, bunnies don't come in the house.
He brought Hana a sand and water table! He must have really been paying attention because she has been asking for one for quite some time now.
Hana decorated a bag for daddy and filled it full of his favorite Easter treats.
It didn't take long for Hana to spot the goodies outside that the Easter Bunny left for her.
There were eggs EVERYWHERE!
Daddy got cascaroned. Is that even a word? I might have just made it up!
I had to get a picture of Hana enjoying her very first pixie stick.
The loot:
What a wonderful Easter, even thought we didn't get to see much of our family.
